LET’S GO HIKING #2

The Seniors Alliance of Platte Canyon and friends went on our second hiking adventure Thursday, July 23rd.

The group hiked, approximately 2.5 miles, further exploring a portion of the Davis Ponds Loop, Chase Meadow, Historic Cabin and a portion of the Staunton Ranch trails, returning to our starting point at Meadow Lot before the rain set in. An unexpected bonus was receiving a guided tour of the Staunton cabin. It was so exciting to see and learn about the Staunton family and other early settlers that built cabins in what is now Staunton State Park.

The Seniors Alliance plans to schedule monthly hikes into fall. We reached out to Staunton State Park for information on the August “Night Sky Talk”. Unfortunately, it has not been scheduled yet. Stay tuned, the Seniors Alliance plans to announce and attend a “Night Sky Talk”.
