We want to hear from our neighbors
DCVR Neighborhood Mail Delivery Survey
We are exploring whether changes to our current mail delivery system could make receiving mail and packages more convenient, secure, and accessible for residents of Deer Creek Valley Ranchos.
Some neighbors have expressed interest in moving their mailboxes closer to their homes, while others have previously considered purchasing secure, locking neighborhood mailbox structures similar to those in Mill Iron D.
Before taking any further steps, we would like to understand how our neighbors feel about the current system, what improvements they would support, and whether there is enough interest to explore potential options with the United States Postal Service (USPS).
What we are considering:
- Requesting USPS approval for individual roadside mailboxes closer to our homes.
- Exploring privately funded, locked neighborhood mailbox clusters serving approximately 16 homes per location.
- Looking into ways to improve USPS package delivery and reduce trips to the Post Office.
- Maintaining our existing mail delivery system if that is what residents prefer.
Any proposed change would require further research, potential USPS approval, and consideration of costs, locations, maintenance, and ongoing responsibilities.
