Fire Adapted Park County (formerly Fire Adapted Bailey)June 22, 2026

Fire Adapted Park County (formerly Fire Adapted Bailey) is excited to announce that our new Chainsaw Use and Safety Class is now live!

Using a chainsaw in Park County means more than just cutting wood -it means operating under specific legal requirements designed to protect our mountain community from wildfire. A single spark from a chainsaw can ignite dry vegetation and start a fire that threatens lives, homes, and our forests.

This essential guide walks Park County residents through everything they need to know: the laws, the gear, the techniques, and what to do in an emergency.

What you will learn

  • Park County chainsaw regulations and burn ban requirements
  • Required fire safety equipment and when it's legally mandatory
  • Personal protective equipment (PPE) - what to wear every time
  • Pre-operation safety checks for your saw and work area • Safe cutting techniques and how to prevent kickback
  • Emergency response for chainsaw-related fires and injuries • Best practices for every chainsaw operation
